I have nothing against free of charge education. I just hope when no fee is imposed, the government would still continue to provide for the school. Is there anybody clear of the current situation in schools? For example, do you know that in my school, most teachers fork out their own money to provide worksheets for the students throughout the year? For example, are you aware that when the school asked for desk+chair for 5 classes and just got for 1 class instead? Do you know that textbooks are not enough, and eventhough they are not enough, the school has to come up with some sort of solution (like photocopy and stuff)? Another example, teachers pay through their nose for their own WiFi just because all KPM systems are now online and that the ISP in the school whether paid directly by the school or some VLE projects just too, too slow or often, often offline?
I say before one promises something, one should look deep into the matter and think through. Perhaps with this manifesto, I would like to see the plan of implementation to achieve FoC education.
