Trip with year 6 students, my first as a chaperone

This learning trip was organized for Year 6 students this year, got to participate as one of the chaperones :) We left quite late and arrived late then. Morning activity of walking up St. Paul Hill was quite refreshing, just that we should have worn sports clothes instead of our formal working shirt. A bit sweaty afterwards. It would further make our activities of walking round the town easier too. Yep, really were walking around Banda Hilir. After we got back down the hill, we immediately headed to the Independence Memorial Museum. We left in about 15 minutes. Then we visited the Kite Museum- filled with quite a collection of kites from all over the world. There is a Top Exhibition downstairs. I just recorded some videos of kites exhibited. Then I hurried to the underground level where 3D arts were exhibited. Then we took the boat ride. Not to condn, but the water was dirty, smelly and there were not much of anything to be observed on the river bank for an RM10.00 per person ride. People say it would look nicer at night, but that’s not the point. It should be equally interesting for tours during the day as well. Perhaps the most interesting part of the cruise was watching the many fresh water lizards swimming against the tide, or perhaps when the boat passed another boat and they could exchange hi with the passengers in it. This should be like added experience to  those who habe never rode on a boat. An ctivity that’s little fun but not much of learning. It took almost an hour and since we were travelling back to starting point, the trip back was quite boring. Then it is the visit to the Maritime Museum in the building that represented by a ship structure. Beautiful place :) We had lunch nearby Melaka Mall then allowed the students to jalan-jalan by themselves and returned in 20 minutes, but there were a number of them who did not able to manage time, so we did not have enough time to visit Planetarium Melaka. Ha well, next time perhaps ...
