Romeo and Juliet

This is indeed a very popular play Shakespeare had ever written. I have never really known what the play is all about. Read on.
Once upon a time in Verona, Italy lived two quarrelling families Montague and Capulet. The quarrel was so bad that whenever they met they will fight each other. One day, Lord Capulet decided to give a party and invited many people. Romeo Montague saw an invitation for Rosaline, the woman he was madly in love with at that time, when he stopped a Capulet’s servant in the street. He went to the party and saw Juliet Capulet. Tybalt, one of Capulet’s nephews saw Romeo at the party and wanted to kill him but Lord Capulet stopped him. Romeo talked to Juliet without knowing that she was a Capulet and without telling her that he was a Montague. They got married very soon later. On the day they got married, Romeo met Tybalt in the street. Romeo tried to talk nicely to Tybalt, but Tybalt provoked a fight that killed Romeo’s friend Mercutio. Then Romeo killed Tybalt. The news of the killings was brought to the Prince of Verona’s attention. He called Lord Capulet, Lord Montague, and their wives. A friend of Romeo, Benvolio who was with him when the killings happened told everything he saw. Lady Capulet wanted Romeo to be put to death but Lord Montague thought Romeo had done nothing wrong in killing a murderer. The prince then ordered Romeo to leave Verona and not to come back anymore. Lord Capulet without knowing that Juliet was married to Romeo wanted her to marry the rich Count Paris. Juliet gave many excuses. She went to Friar Lawrence then for advice. He then suggested her to drink a sleeping potion on the eve she was getting married. She’d only wake up after 48 hours. In the mean time, the priest will notify Romeo in Mantua. She followed Friar Lawrence’s suggestion and her family thought that she had died. She was put in the tomb where all the dead Capulets were placed. Unfortunately, Romeo didn’t get the warning from Friar Lawrence because the messenger was stopped on his way because of an accident. Romeo went to the Capulets tomb and met Count Paris crying beside Juliet’s body. Paris thought that a Montague wanted to harm Juliet. They fought and Romeo killed the count. Not knowing that Juliet was still alive, Romeo drank a poison and died. Friar Lawrence was too late to save them. He explained everything that had happened to both families. They regretted that this had happened and they promised to be at peace for the rest of their lives.
